well, your body will respond to all foreign objects the same. Inflammation - your specialized blood cells that protect you will come in, i.e. neutrophils, macrophages -they will try to destroy the foreign body with the enzymes they contain within them. However, something like glass may further complicate the situation because bacteria can get in and most likely cause infection. Still the cells will try to fight that off also. But something like glass will have to be removed physically, your body cannot destry that. do u have glass under your skin? why did u put that there? get it out!
