Is it true that scientists say that every object in the universe is stretching further and further apart?

from each other and at an ever increasing speed?

sorry english is not my 1st language. Is it true that scientists say that every object in the universe is stretching further and further apart?
Not EVERY object is stretching further and further apart.

But in general, yes, the universe is flying apart as evidenced by the redshifts in most everything we see (the doppler effect shifts the frequency of light, so an object moving away is redder and an approaching object is bluer) and the Hubble relationship between the redshift of an object and its distance from us.

Alex--the rate of change of expansion has been measured. The expansion is increasing--a result which is confounding physicists at the moment--the dark energy problem. Is it true that scientists say that every object in the universe is stretching further and further apart?
It is true that the galaxies of the universe are moving apart from each other. Its analagous to drawing dots on a balloon and then inflating it. This has been proved by measuring the red shift of light coming from all galaxies.

However we don't know if this speed is increasing, decreasing or constant, hence the uncertainty of the future of the universe, ie will it keep expanding forever or will it eventually collapse back under gravity????
It is false.

The only ';objects';, that are stretching, are the superclusters of galaxies.

The smaller objects, including clusters of galaxies, galaxies themselves, stars, celestial bodies, Earth and our everyday objects are all of the same size all the time.
yea... all objects show red shifts which mean the universe... and all objects in it... r moving away from all other objects at the speed of light...
That would be the big bang theory, which is not proven to be true. Many people believe that, but it is not proven true.
Yes, it is called the ';red shift';.
