What is the difference between ';a force acting on an object'; and ';the net force acting on an object';?

Then, give an example of each. What is the difference between ';a force acting on an object'; and ';the net force acting on an object';?
A force can be any one force, while the net force is all the forces combined.

For example, say a forklift lifts a crate. That means the forklift is acting a force on the crate.

The net force is the force generated by the forklift minus the force of gravity pulling the crate down. That force is what makes the object move. What is the difference between ';a force acting on an object'; and ';the net force acting on an object';?
Net force is the sum of all of the forces on an object and a force acting on an object is singular.
